Surunkali sinusitlarning barcha shakllari orasida Yuqori jag’ bo’shlig’i kistalari (YJBK) keng tarqalgan patologiya hisoblanadi. Turli mualliflarning fikriga ko'ra, yuqori jag'ning shilliq qavatining kistalarining tarqalishi, o'z navbatida, 3,5-16,4% gacha. Sinus patologlari tomonidan qo'llaniladigan diagnostika usuliga qarab, raqamlar sezilarli darajada farq qilishi mumkin. Shunday qilib, burun yondosh bo’shliqlari KT ma'lumotlariga ko'ra, umumiy populyatsiyada YJBK bilan kasallanish darajasi 1,4% dan 35,6% gacha.
